PRAYERBODY 3rd ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Jan 26 ~ 7pm ~ by donation

Bayview Community Hall

5642 Bayview Road ~ Langley, Wa. 98260

Three years ago, on Martin Luther King's birthday, we opened the floor to our first Prayerbody. We were 25 strong that first sunday, and danced ourselves lighter and freer to 2 hours of recorded music. As momentum grew, the DJ'd music was replaced by a committed group of musicians  dedicated to inspiring and following the bodies on the floor. Out of this has grown an extraordinary community of people of all ages and physical abilities who are drawn to movement as spiritual practice....embodiment. In inviting our Spirit into our Flesh and  following the 'Teacher' within, we build a relationship with ourselves and each other that begins to change the way we experience life 'off the floor'. If the pulse of our times calls for anything, it demands that we wake from our slumber and find a way to integrate the powerful and confusing energies that swirl around us. It asks us to stand together and find unity of like-hearted souls. Having a place of self-discovery and respite is essential. Now heading into our 4th year, every Sunday sees 50+ dancers on the floor....and so we celebrate! We'll be joined by all the musicians who've ever played for our morning gatherings and a few new ones! Hope to see you there!

                                     PRAYERBODY SUNDAYS

Prayerbody Sundays have been a wild success with new dancers joining every week. We range in ages from 16-96! Our core musicians (Joseph Sanchez, Nick Toombs, Ashley Eriksson) are often joined by special guests, so each week is a surprise!  Those of us who dance regularly are finding that the more we move the better we feel, and that moving together weaves a community of the heart that nourishes and sustains us. This "dance church" is drop-in and by donation with childcare provided. Come join us!
